When your sweet tooth cravings hit hard in Orlando, Universal Studios is a great place to be. Walt Disney World parks are usually the “go-to” hot spots for snacks and seasonal flavors, but Universal has recently upped their game. Not only do their treats please the taste buds, they also bring childhood adventures and literary dishes to life.
Here’s our list of top Universal Studios snacks and where to find them:
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Islands of Adventure
What is every Hogwarts student’s favorite drink? Butterbeer, of course! One sip of this butterscotch, frothy concoction will transport you to a world filled with spells and potions. Butterbeer is served cold, hot, or frozen and can be found at Leaky Cauldron, The Hopping Pot, Three Broomsticks, Hog’s Head Pub, and Butterbeer street carts.
If you just can’t get enough Butterbeer, be sure to try Butterbeer Soft Serve Ice Cream; my personal favorite. This ice cream is vanilla with a butterscotch ribbon and is twirled to perfection. It’s served at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour, The Hopping Pot, and Three Broomsticks.
Springfield, U.S.A.
“Mmm…donuts.” Arguably, the most iconic food of The Simpsons TV show is Homer’s pink donut with sprinkles. This massive treat is called “The Big Pink” and is served at Lard Lad Donut. If you’d like to take your love for donuts to an all new level, you can also try the Brain Freezin’ D’oh-Nut Sundae. It’s a sundae with chocolate or vanilla ice cream served between two halves of the pink, sprinkled donut and comes with one topping of your choice.
CityWalk
Universal Studios is filled with milkshake options, but the ones that are equally as beautiful as they are delicious, are Jacques’ Specialty Milkshakes. Follow your nose to The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen to choose from 11 specialty milkshakes that are large enough to be a meal themselves…Cookie Jar, Marshmallow Crisp, Chocolate X5, Espresso Buzzz to name a few. Which will you savor?
If specialty doughnuts are your thing, sprint to the doughnut shop with a cult following, Voodoo Doughnut. This phenomenon serves more than 50 types of doughnuts, ranging from traditional flavors to one-of-a-kind recipes such as the Memphis Mafia Fritter, Bacon Maple Bar, and the splendid but spooky, Voodoo Doll.
If adventure is calling and you find yourself amongst witches and wizards, don’t be a muggle. Embrace the experience and don’t forget to taste these yummy delights that will feed both your imagination and your cravings.
