Top 5 Things to be Excited for on the Disney Wish

It feels like it’s been forever since Disney Cruise Line announced the name of its 5th ship at the D23 Expo back in August of 2019. At that time, the cruise industry was going strong and there was a lot of excitement and fun things to come from Disney Cruise Line.

Who would have known at the time that it would be more than a year and half until we learned any significant new details about the newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet? We’ve been waiting so long!

Well, for us Disney Cruise fans, the day finally arrived! We got to see some of the exiting things that Walt Disney Imagineers have dreamed up for us, and I have reached Rapunzel-leaving-her-tower levels of excitement! So with that in mind, let’s look at the top 5 things to be excited for on the Disney Wish!

1. The AquaMouse

I said before the announcement that I’d love to see an enhanced version of the AquaDuck on the Disney Wish, and Disney Cruise Line sure delivered! Disney’s first ever attraction at sea looks like a can’t-miss experience that combines animation and story telling of the Mickey Mouse animated shorts with…a water coaster! As if the AquaDuck wasn’t cool enough already! I can’t wait to experience this unique attraction for myself.

2. The Reimagined Staterooms

Though you won’t be spending a ton of time in your cabin, the staterooms are your home away from home while you’re at sea. I LOVE the new color palate and theming of the staterooms. The white makes everything feel bigger and the custom artwork offers the perfect artistic accent. They appear so spacious and almost have more of a hotel room feeling than a crowded stateroom. And the TVs placed in front of the bed is an added bonus!

3. Three Brand New Restaurant Themes

One of the top priorities on my “Wish list” prior to the announcement was three brand-new restaurant themes. Don’t get me wrong, I love Animator’s Palate, but I didn’t want to see any repeat main dining restaurants on the new ship – and Disney Cruise Line delivered once again! I am so excited about 1923: the throwback to old Hollywood, paying homage to the golden age of animation. Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is sure to deliver a dinner show on par with Rapunzel’s Royal Table and Tiana’s Place, and did I mention there was a third new restaurant…

4. Worlds of Marvel

I love that Disney Cruise Line is incorporating a permanent Marvel presence on the Disney Wish that you won’t just find in the kids’ clubs! Not only will Worlds of Marvel feature world-class dining, it promises to be the first ever Marvel cinematic dining adventure. This is where your family gets to play an interactive role in an action-packed Avengers mission. Sign me up!

And speaking of beloved characters and stories for adults, I was thrilled to see a Star Wars themed space for families during the day and for adults at night. The Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge will offer tasting experiences inspired by the films, complete with iconic movie scene landscapes and hyperspace jumps. It’s sure to be an out-of-this-world experience! Kudos to Disney Cruise Line for bringing these properties onboard for the adults!

5. More Magic Coming

I’m not sure if this counts as something to be excited for, but if you watched Disney Cruise Line’s public reveal event and left it wanting to learn more, you’re not alone! There’s still so much we haven’t learned about the Disney Wish. I can’t wait for the next round of revelations. If you’ve visited Disney Cruise Line’s website in the past couple of days, you’ll notice that the deck plans have been revealed. There are “More Magic Coming” markers all over the place, which means there is so much more to come! If you thought last Thursday’s announcement was exciting, just wait until we’ve learned everything there is to know about Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship.

Maybe it was worth the wait after all!
