Walt Disney World is an amazing place, but it’s also an ENORMOUS place. That’s why we’re here to give you The Disney Lowdown on everything your family needs to know to create magical memories that last a lifetime! Today, we’re talking about Quick Service Restaurants. The Disney food scene is expansive. With so many places to choose from, it can be overwhelming.
Meal Sharing
At quick service restaurants, Disney does NOT know how many people are in your party and they don’t ask. Combined with large portion sizes, guests can order what they want and split it among everyone. This is a great way to stretch your budget! Also, if you are having a big meal later, splitting meals early in the day can be a great way to tide you over and not waste food.
Drinks
Many quick service restaurants have self-serve soda machines. You can ask at the counter for cups of water with no extra purchase. If you have your own water bottle, now is the time to refill it! At the end of your meal, don’t forget to refill those cups and take them with you. No need to purchase another drink!
Mobile Ordering
Quick service restaurants in the parks now require mobile ordering through the My Disney Experience app. There are designated “pick up” counters for your food. Order ahead of time and skip the line!
Kids Meals
As an adult, you can order kids meals at quick service restaurants. Not that hungry? Just want something to tide you over? Ordering from the kids menu is a great way to curb your hunger, save money and still get a complete meal.
Seasonal Treats
Throughout the year, Disney brings seasonal desserts and drinks to the parks. Quick service restaurants are your go-to places to find these limited time treats! Seasonal treats change throughout the year and are often exclusive to particular quick service locations. They are often new and
exciting spins on fan favorites. Halloween and Christmas, in particular, bring many delectable delights. Make sure you check them out!
Tables
Quick service restaurants are “seat yourself” locations. While someone is ordering the food, others in your party can go and locate a table. This is especially useful if you are part of a large party. This will help you save time and get back to those rides.
Off-Peak Hours
Another great way to save time while eating at a quick service restaurant is to go at an off-peak time. The lines to order will be shorter, and the tables will be less crowded. If your party can wait, it is highly recommended that you eat during off-times (plus, the wait times at most rides go down during the peak meal times).
