Calling all future animators! Disney’s Animal Kingdom features a great event for guests of all ages: The Animation Experience at Conservation Station. For any guests interested in developing their artistic side, this is the place for you!
The Animation Experience is located in Conservation Station at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. The experience occurs multiple times throughout the day and is roughly 30 minutes.
When you arrive, you will check in at the desk and be given a clipboard, pencil, and paper. Then you will be directed to your seats. Due to physical distancing, parties can sit together, but are spread out from other parties.
In front of the seats are several TV screens that project what the instructor is drawing. Each lesson features a different animal character that will be drawn. During my visit, we learned how to draw Dumbo! The instructor helps guide you step by step throughout the entire lesson.
I have no creative talents, but with the instructors expertise, I was able to successfully draw Dumbo! I was very impressed with the class and by the instructor. The Animation Experience definitely proves that anyone can draw!
If you enjoy The Animation Experience at Conservation Station, you can attend as many sessions as you like. Maybe one day you can even be a real Disney animator!
