It’s official! Minnie and the gang are back at Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This character meal has always been a favorite of guests at the Walt Disney World Resort, and we couldn’t wait to give it a try once it reopened.
Once you check in and your table is ready, a hostess escorts you inside the restaurants and welcomes you to take pictures in front of the Halloween backdrop. Previously, one of the characters would have taken pictures here with each family, but due to physical distancing, they are no longer allowed to do so. No worries though, you will see each character throughout your dining experience!
After we were seated, our server came around and gave each child a postcard with a Halloween scene featuring all the characters along with their signatures on the back.
We weren’t seated long before Minnie, dressed in her witch costume, arrived to greet us! We were able to see each character at least twice throughout our meal. They spent lots of time waving, blowing kisses and interacting with the kids.
Each table is physically distanced so the characters can come near your table for photos without getting too close. The kids loved it and didn’t notice the distance at all.
The restaurant is no longer buffet style and instead features a 3 course meal, including an entrée and dessert of your choice. Family style salad and rolls are included as well. The adults ordered the farmhouse salad bowl, prime rib of beef, shrimp mac and cheese, carved turkey for entrées. The kids all ordered roasted beef. For anyone that has dined at Hollywood & Vine in the past when it was buffet style, you may notice that the entrées are very similar to those that were found on the buffet. We found each entrée to be delicious and the portions were large.
The dessert menu had all new items that we had not previously sampled from the old buffet offerings.
We tried the s’mores pie, apple blueberry pie, crème brulee and kids sundae. We enjoyed the s’mores pie the most, because it put us in the Halloween spirit of the restaurant!
This meal was the highlight of our dining during our visit. It keeps us looking forward to more and more character meals returning to the parks!
