Military Room Discounts for 2021 are Here

Walt Disney World released their military room promo for 2021 this week! Here is what you need to know about it.

Offer Specifics

The valid travel dates for this offer are January 1, 2021 through December 17, 2021. You must stay between 1 and 14 nights. In years past, the peak spring break weeks have been excluded, but not for this year. This is great news for families who want to travel over spring break and still take advantage of the offer.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this discount you must be active or retired U.S. military personnel (including active or retired members of the National Guard, Reservists, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS), and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Spouses of military service members and PHS and NOAA Commissioned Corps members also qualify if they are able to present valid and active U.S. military IDs in the absence of active or retired military personnel or Commissioned Corps members. Each primary ID card holder can book up to 3 rooms with the offer.

Excluded Rooms and Resorts

Every year Disney excludes certain room types from the offer and this year the list has not really changed. This discount cannot be used at the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort. The room types excluded are 3-bedroom villas, suites in Moderate and Deluxe Resort hotels, Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

Important Details

You must show your military ID at check in to verify your status. If you do not have your ID or are not eligible for the rate booked, your reservation will revert to rack rate pricing. You cannot combine this discount with any other offer. You also cannot have a military room rate package with regular tickets attached. To have the military rate room, you must be booked in a ticketless package. Military promo tickets are purchased separately at the base ticket offices or through the ticket office at Shades of Green. If extra tickets need to be purchased for the trip, they must be purchased as stand alone tickets and then linked in the My Disney Experience account. At this time park reservations are still required for entry into the different parks.

Update to Tickets and Memory Maker

When Disney released the military room discount, they also released some updates to tickets and Memory Maker. Military families can still take advantage of the current discounted Memory Maker price through February 14, 2021. I expect this discount to continue past February 14, 2021 but at a slightly increased price. Between December 19, 2020 and December 31, 2021 you can only use 2 military priced Memory Maker packages.

The window to purchase the Disney Military Promotional 2020 priced tickets has also been extended to February 14, 2021. You must use the 2020 tickets by September 26, 2021 and there are no blackout dates. If you purchase six 2020 tickets between December 19, 2020 and February 14, 2021 you are not eligible for any 2021 Military Promotional Ticket offers Disney may release. So basically you are still only allowed your six tickets in a year.

Book Sooner Rather Than Later

Every year I notice a decrease in rooms available for this offer and this year is no different. It seems much more significant due to the fact that only some of the resorts are open. As I have been booking this offer for clients, I have had rooms disappear mid booking. It only takes a $200 deposit to secure your room and package. Every room
booking can be booked in a basic package so you have the flexibility to add onto it later. Hopefully we will see the return of the Disney Dining Plan soon and can begin adding that great benefit to packages.

Please contact me with any questions about this offer! I can’t wait to help other military families book their magical getaway!
