In celebration of Aulani Resort reopening November 1 in Ko Olina, Hawaii, I wanted to highlight some of the great resort offerings from my most recent trip.
From the moment you arrive at Aulani, you are welcomed as family and presented with a beautiful Orchid Lei before stepping inside to the expansive, Maka’ala lobby, with beautiful resort views and cool island breeze. The architecture, murals and artwork are amazing and authentic to Hawaiian culture.
Aulani is a very extensive resort, with a private beach and tons of water activities including Ka Maka Grotto and Rainbow Reef, where you can snorkel. Be sure to look for the hidden statues during your snorkel.
Aulani offers a variety of rooms and villas ranging from studios to 3 bedroom villas with full kitchens, and all have Disney touches. Rooms have a variety of options including ocean views.
There are tons of dining options at Aulani, from beachside dining at ‘Ama ‘Ama, character dining at Makahiki with Disney pals, Mickey shaved ice from Papalua, or Ulu Café for quick bites. There is something for everyone!
Character experiences, including poolside parties, can be found throughout the day at the resort. Aulani provides a character hotline so that you can be sure and catch your favorites. Don’t miss the surfing lessons with Goofy!
Kids’ activities are the highlight of Aulani Resort and what sets it apart from other resorts. Aunty’s Beach House is a state of the art kids club for children ages 3-12. Kids can enjoy tons of programs including arts and crafts, character visits, interactive game tables, etc. while parents enjoy some relaxing alone time. Parents can visit the first ever spa created by Disney with an outdoor hydrotherapy garden, massage therapies, fitness center, salon and more. After dark, everyone can enjoy movies under the stars on the Halawai Lawn and Mo’Olelo fire pit storytelling!
After spending some time enjoying other activities, families can then enjoy some activities together in the Pau Hana Community Center. Pau Hana offers a variety of activities from making our own Hawaiian Mickey Ears to an Ohana painting party. There is fun for all ages!
Aulani has an authentic luau option for guests to enjoy as well, called Ka Wa’A. It is held select nights on the Halawai Lawn. The luau keeps everyone entertained even before the show begins with traditional activities such as kappa printing, floral jewelry, temporary kakau tattoos, ukulele lessons, and more! This one of a kind luau blends traditional Hawaiian festivities with Disney magic, and of course delicious food.
With everything Aulani has to offer, you will be wishing you to had more time to explore and take it all in – aside from visiting all the sites in Oahu. I highly recommend planning a visit for the reopening! I know I plan too!
