2021 is a big year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Consisting of 4 movies and 6 Disney+ Original Series, the MCU is getting a total of 10 new installments this year!
Here’s a look at every Marvel movie and TV show coming in 2021:
Phase 4 of the MCU officially kicked off in January with WandaVision. Taking place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, this series pays a tribute to some of the greatest American television shows while continuing the story of Wanda Maximoff and Vision.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the latest edition to the MCU. This mini-series deals with the aftermath from the events of Avengers: Endgame, and shows Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes continuing the legacy of Captain America.
The God of Mischief is back in a whole new adventure! Loki, a Disney+ Original Series streams June 11, 2021. Unlike WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this series will have multiple seasons. It’s set to connect with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness coming March 25, 2022.
After being delayed four times due to the pandemic, Black Widow is now scheduled to release on July 9, 2021. It will release both in theaters and on Disney+ via Premier Access for $29.99. The film takes place somewhere after Captain America: Civil War, where Natasha Romanov will reunite with her family to deal with events from their past.
Coming this summer to Disney+, Marvel Studios’ What If…? is an animated series based off of the comics. Several familiar characters like Thor, Nick Fury, Peggy Carter, Thanos, and more will be in the show. Many of the actors will return to reprise their characters’ role.
A new hero to the MCU will be introduced this fall. Originally slated for July 9, 2021, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will release on September 3, 2021 due to another delay of Black Widow. The cast includes Simu Liu, Tony Leung, Awkwafina, and Michelle Yeoh.
Based off the Marvel comics of the same name, Eternals is set to release November 5, 2021. The film will star Richard Madden, Gemma Chan Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan, Angelina Jolie, and Kit Harington.
The third installment for the Spider-Man movies, Spider-Man: No Way Home, premieres just in time for the holidays on December 17, 2021. The movie is a prequel to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and picks up after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Jamie Foxx, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina are all set to reprise their roles.
Premiering in late 2021, Ms. Marvel is a new series headed to Disney+. The series will star Iman Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha
The final installment for the MCU in 2021 will be Hawkeye, a Disney+ Original Series. Jeremy Renner will return as the title character. Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, Alaqua Cox will also star in the show.
2021 is set to be a big year for Marvel fans! WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are already huge successes, so the future of the MCU is looking bright. All 10 installments coming this year will all be part of Phase 4 of the MCU.
