If you are interested in stepping back in time to enjoy Florida beaches from the 50’s and 60’s, then Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is the place you want to go!
When you first pull to up to the entrance of the resort, you are greeted by beautiful vintage cars lined up outside, as if they were dropping of guests from the roaring 50’s and 60’s. As you step into the lobby, the smell of a wonderful cologne and the vibrant colors with the retro themed décor surrounds you. It’s as if you have traveled back in time! In true Universal theme, your will find those pesky minions wandering around from time to time.
The rooms are very spacious and well themed. Most rooms facing the pool have full ceiling to floor windows that allow for amazing views.
Standard rooms will accommodate up to 4 quests and include 2 queen beds and a mini refrigerator. The bathrooms are huge, and I loved the retro 50’s themed product that they supply you!
Family Suites accommodate up to 6 guests and include 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa. They also include a sliding privacy partition and a compartmentalized bathroom, so three guests can get ready at once. The rooms also have a small kitchenette with mini refrigerator, microwave and sink.
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort has a few restaurants and lounges.
Bayliner Diner is the main food court location located near the lobby. It has a huge TV screen playing shows from the era. Here you can find many different food stations offering everything from deli items to pizza, burgers, salads and more.
Out near the pools and lazy river, there are other locations that offer snacks, frozen drinks and cocktails such as The Hideaway Bar & Grill and Atomic Tonic. While the kids are in the pool, you can sit back, relax and enjoy a nice adult beverage. If sitting indoors at a bar is more your style, the Swizzle Lounge is the place for you!
Of course for the coffee lovers, don’t despair! Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort has you covered with a Starbucks location right inside next to Galaxy Bowl.
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort has two pools and activities that meet everyone’s needs. The main pool has a retro dive tower themed water slide, while the other pool is located in the Lazy River Courtyard and offers a sand beach along with an amazing lazy river. Tubes are available for rent or purchase. The lazy river is a must in my book. It was the highlight of our nights after spending long days in the park. Come back and float your cares away and enjoy the beautiful landscaping!
If you are looking for some indoor activities, then grab the family and enjoy a nice game of bowling. The resort has its own 10 lane bowling alley on the second floor of the lobby.
Right next-door is Ace of Arcade filled with all the arcade favorites of past and present.
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is within walking distance to Volcano Bay and offers its own transportation to CityWalk, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
If you are looking for an amazing adventure with spacious accommodations at a budget friendly price, then Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is the place for you!
