On our recent Disney family vacation we dined at 10 Disney table service restaurants, and we did not have a bad meal. I am so excited to share our dining experiences with you! My personal opinion is based on three things: quality of food, service and location/atmosphere.
When our large group discussed a fun place to have our first meal in Disney, everyone agreed on Biergarten. The Biergarten restaurant is located in the Germany Pavilion at Epcot. This restaurant is right out of a Bavarian village. They serve a large variety of meats including regensburger, bratwurst, franks, and schnitzel.
The family style platters that came out to our table also included roasted chicken, mac & cheese, potato salad, rice, green beans, corn, sauerkraut, spaetzle and more. The best part, this meal is all you can eat! It was not uncommon for family members and friends to request seconds of their favorite dish.
Biergarten is a uniquely themed dining experience. You feel like you are in a small village in Germany and are part of a true Oktoberfest celebration. There is a polka band playing and there are beer garden style tables set up throughout. The polka band is highly entertaining and so was our waiter. He was very accommodating and quite the jokester.
Be sure to order a German beer flight. You can get five 5 ounce beers of your choice for only $15. What a fun way to try out some beers right from Germany!
The meal was delicious but my favorite part was the warm pretzel rolls that came out as an appetizer, as well as the variety of German desserts. They offered Bavarian cheesecake, apple strudel, and black forest rolls.
This is a great dining location if you are traveling with a large group. We had 14 in our party and I had no problem getting reservations. You may even get lucky with last-minute reservations at this restaurant. You can sing along with the band, dance on the dance floor and have some delicious food and imported beer too! Biergarten in Epcot really was a great time. “Prost!”
