Is Memory Maker Still Worth It?

Clients often wonder if purchasing Memory Maker with their package is worth the cost. Cell phones take such amazing photos these days, so why pay for someone else to take the photos. Memory Maker is always worth the cost…always. A trip to Walt Disney World is a one of a kind experience. Every trip is different and each will hold their own special memories. All Disney memories are core memories in my opinion.

Personal Phones

PhotoPass photographers used to take any photos you wanted with your phone or camera for you. This is how a lot of guests rationalized not purchasing the Memory Maker package. Now that COVID-19 is a factor, Walt Disney World is no longer allowing their photographers touch any guests personal phones or cameras. So if you want that amazing shot right in front of the castle with the whole family, a PhotoPass photo is the only way to go.

Masks

At this time, Walt Disney World does require all guests to keep their masks on while taking photos. Some people may feel like they don’t want to pay for photos with a mask, but I disagree. This is a historic time in our world and masks have become a part of our daily lives. Having photos from a trip taken during a pandemic marks that point in history and in your lives. And how else will you show off all those adorable Disney themed masks?

Ride Photos

The magical thing about ride photos right now is that most rides are spacing out the guests into separate parties. Some attractions are only putting members of the same party in a ride vehicle. When else can you get a ride photo of only your family on a Splash Mountain log? Or not have to worry about your 4 year old getting blocked by the adult in front of them in the photo?

New Magic Shots

Walt Disney World is always rolling out new Magic Shots for guests. Imagine having a picture of Figment flying above your heads in Epcot, or hanging out with The Child in Galaxy’s Edge.

Empty Parks

Park capacity is currently being limited. First thing in the
morning and at park closing, you can get photos with an almost empty looking park. If you schedule a dinner in the park close to closing time, as you exit the park you will be one of the few guests left!

Convenience

With PhotoPass photographers around, you don’t have to worry about it as much. You will spend a lot less time pulling out your phone or camera and more time enjoying the moment. Plus, you can easily get the whole party in the picture when someone else is behind the lens.

Cost

When purchased in advance (at least 3 days before your vacation) the cost is $169. When purchased at the parks the cost is $199. Military families can add Memory Maker at any guest relations at Walt Disney World for $98.
