On our last trip to Walt Disney World we were lucky enough to stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This deluxe resort is adjacent to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park and provides amazing views of wildlife right out of your window. It truly feels like you are in the middle of an African Savanna.
Our family stayed in a one bedroom villa located in Kidani Village with a Savanna view room. When we entered the main living space, we were astonished by not only the beautiful detail in design but also the spaciousness of the rooms.
The full kitchen provided everything that we needed like a microwave, refrigerator, oven, sink, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, cooking utensils and dishes. Although we prefer to take advantage of the amazing dining options at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we could certainly prepare a full meal in this kitchen.
The living room had a large pull-out couch as well as an oversized chair that pulled out to a bed. There was plenty of seating space including a table and chairs to enjoy your meals, and an island with bar stools.
Also in the main living space, you can find a washer and dryer which was very helpful. They even provide you with laundry detergent to get you started. There is an ironing board and iron as well.
Full baths are located not only in the main living area but also attached to the master bedroom. Everyone had plenty of space for the morning rush to get out to the Disney Parks.
I certainly enjoy a room with a view, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge did not disappoint! From both the living room and the master bedroom, I could see animals grazing and wandering through the Savanna. (The resort can provide you with a wildlife field guide so that you can take note of which animals you have seen throughout your stay).
The large master bedroom included a king size bed, a desk, a dresser that provided plenty of storage, a big screen TV, and an amazingly large master bath.
Let’s take a moment to talk about the master bath. Wow! After a long day in the parks, relaxing in the jacuzzi tub was amazing. The oversized shower had complimentary toiletries, a bench and a rain shower head. Our vanity was large enough for multiple family members to use at once. The toilet was in a separate room allowing even more privacy.
We have stayed in most of the Disney resorts, and I have to say this is definitely on the top of the list! If your family loves wildlife, the comforts of home, and the ability to be super close to the Animal Kingdom theme park, I highly recommend Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
